Michael 2: Uncovering the Untold Stories of the King of Pop

A potential sequel to the movie "Michael" is in the works, aiming to further explore the life of Michael Jackson. Lionsgate's film chair, Adam Fogelson, expressed excitement about the progress being made on "Michael 2" and mentioned that there is still a lot of untold stories and music catalog of Michael Jackson that could be covered in the sequel.
Fogelson highlighted that the new film could delve into events that were not touched upon in the original movie, providing a more comprehensive look at the iconic musician's life. He mentioned that the studio already has a significant portion of the sequel shot, as some scenes had to be reworked due to legal constraints related to depicting certain events involving one of Jackson's accusers.
While director Antoine Fuqua has expressed interest in returning for the sequel, his involvement may be affected by his current commitments to a "Hannibal" film for Netflix. The team behind the original movie had to collaborate to adjust the storyline after the legal issue arose, resulting in additional filming to complete the revised version of the film.
The first "Michael" movie was a commercial success, grossing over $713 million worldwide. With the groundwork laid for a sequel and the potential to explore more aspects of Michael Jackson's life and music, the upcoming film is expected to captivate audiences globally once again.
