Haruomi Hosono's Musical Journey: Exploring 'Yours Sincerely' and the Intersection of Past and Present

Haruomi Hosono, the 78-year-old co-founder of Yellow Magic Orchestra, is set to release his 23rd studio album titled "Yours Sincerely" on September 11 through Ghostly International. Hosono shared that the album's title was inspired by the Japanese concept of omoiyari, which encompasses the idea of suffering and rejoicing together. He expressed his curiosity towards creating new music while embracing his past work, as he believes he now carries two musical worlds within him.
In support of the upcoming album, Hosono will perform two shows with Toro y Moi: one at New York's Radio City Music Hall on September 16th and another at the Greek Theatre on September 20th. The album features tracks such as "Note of Mothership," "Sincerely," "Ayurveda," "M for Mandala," "Rojiura," "Happy Holiday," "To a Wild Rose," "Humming 'Dream of Love'," "Figlio Perduto," and "Anemo Wheel."
