Alleged Terrorist Plotter Targeting U.S. and Israeli Interests Faces Charges in Manhattan Federal Court

An Iraqi national has been accused of carrying out multiple terrorist attacks in Europe targeting U.S. and Israeli interests, including an attack on a Jewish-American citizen. The suspect, Mohammad Baqer Saad Dawood al-Saadi, allegedly orchestrated attacks in retaliation for the war in Iran and to disrupt the conflict. He is set to appear in Manhattan federal court on charges related to providing support to terrorist groups and plotting to bomb public places.
Al-Saadi is identified as a key member of the Kata'ib Hizballah paramilitary group with connections to the Iran Revolutionary Guard Corps and Hezbollah. The criminal complaint alleges that he encouraged and organized attacks against U.S. and Israeli interests, advocating for the killing of Americans and Jews in response to the Iranian Military Conflict. The suspect and his associates are said to have carried out numerous attacks in Europe and Canada on behalf of Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamiya, a faction of Kata'ib Hizballah.
Prosecutors claim that Al-Saadi offered financial support to an individual he believed would target a synagogue in New York, unaware that the person was an undercover law enforcement officer. The suspect's alleged involvement in planning and executing terrorist activities underscores the ongoing threat posed by extremist groups. Updates on this case will be provided as more information becomes available.
