Update on Laredo Boxcar Incident: DHS Investigates Potential Human Smuggling Case
The Laredo Police Department is set to provide an update on the discovery of six bodies inside a railroad boxcar last weekend. The bodies were found at a rail yard in the 12000 block of Jim Young Way, approximately 15 miles north of downtown Laredo. A seventh person connected to the incident was found in southwest Bexar County. The identities of five of the deceased individuals have been released, with the cause of death believed to be hyperthermia. The train involved in the incident originated in Del Rio and had individuals from Mexico and Honduras on board.
