The incident occurred on the westbound lanes of the Trans-Manhattan Expressway, part of Interstate 95, around 8 a.m. on Wednesday. The injured individual was transported to the hospital. As a result, the westbound approach to the lower level of the George Washington Bridge has been closed, with drivers redirected to the upper level.
A video circulating online showed a piece of concrete hitting another vehicle in a similar location on May 7. The Port Authority responded to the scene to assess the area beneath the George Washington Bridge Bus Terminal. The incident has raised concerns about the safety of the infrastructure in the area.
