BTS World Tour ARIRANG: A Spectacular Success in Mexico City

BTS recently concluded their highly successful BTS World Tour ARIRANG with three sold-out concerts in Mexico. The group, consisting of RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook, performed to massive crowds at the GNP Seguros Stadium in Mexico City on May 7 and 9-10. Over 150,000 attendees filled the venue, with an estimated 35,000 fans singing along outside the stadium, many holding their BTS lightsticks.

The last time BTS performed in Mexico was nine years ago at KCON Mexico. Member j-hope, who held a sold-out concert in Mexico City last year, promised his fellow members a surprising experience for the Mexico concert. BTS received a special invitation to meet with Mexico's President, Claudia Sheinbaum, at the National Palace, where they greeted 50,000 fans gathered outside the Constitution Plaza in Zócalo Square.

During the concerts, BTS delivered an electrifying performance featuring songs from their fifth studio album, ARIRANG, as well as popular tracks like "Dynamite," "Butter," and "IDOL." The group embraced Mexican culture, with some members interacting with fans in Spanish and wearing traditional lucha libre masks. SUGA and other members attended a lucha libre match at Arena México, where they cheered on the wrestlers and received a special gift from wrestler Mistico.

Despite ticket controversies and scalping issues, over 1.1 million fans from 1,300 cities worldwide tried to secure tickets for the Mexico City concerts. The BTS lightstick Bluetooth technology allowed fans outside the venue to experience the concert atmosphere, with purple light radiating from the orbs. The overwhelming demand for BTS in Mexico City left fans eagerly anticipating the group's next visit to the country.
