The Trial of Kelvin Evans: Accused of Stealing Unreleased Beyoncé Music

A man accused of stealing hard drives containing unreleased Beyoncé music is set to stand trial on Monday. Kelvin Evans, the accused perpetrator, rejected a five-year plea deal and now faces up to six years in prison if convicted. The theft occurred in July 2025 when choreographer Christopher Grant's Jeep Wagoneer was broken into, resulting in the theft of laptops, headphones, clothing, and unreleased music and show plans belonging to Beyoncé.

Grant and dancer Diandre Blue reported the theft to Atlanta police, noting that their luggage, including designer items and electronics, was stolen just days before Beyoncé's scheduled performance in Atlanta. Prosecutors identified a red 2025 Hyundai Elantra in a video of the robbery, linking it to the crime. Kelvin Evans, 40, was arrested in August and indicted in January on charges related to the theft, to which he pleaded not guilty.

The trial will determine Evans' fate in connection to the theft of valuable items from Grant's vehicle, including unreleased music and show plans belonging to Beyoncé. If convicted, Evans could face up to six years in prison for his alleged involvement in the crime.
