Missing at Sea: The Mystery of the Confiscated Sailboat Soulmate

The sailboat "Soulmate" used by Brian and Lynette Hooker during their travels in the Bahamas has been confiscated by U.S. Coast Guard investigators. The boat set sail from Marsh Harbour in the Bahamas and was intercepted by the Coast Guard en route to the U.S. The investigation into the disappearance of Lynette Hooker has escalated recently, with Coast Guard investigators conducting interviews with potential witnesses. Last week, images of another sailboat were released, and authorities expressed interest in speaking with the occupants or owners of that vessel.

Lynette Hooker was last seen near Aunt Pat's Bay, close to Elbow Cay and Hope Town, on the evening of April 4, 2026. Her husband reported to local authorities that she went overboard during a nighttime dinghy ride. Brian Hooker, who has not been charged with any crime, was questioned by Bahamian authorities for five days before being released. Following his release, he traveled to the U.S. to visit his ill mother. His current location is unknown, and his U.S.-based attorney declined to provide any comments to CBS News.
