Barry Manilow Returns with New Album "What a Time" and Releases Single "Another Life – 2026

Barry Manilow has just released a new version of his 1992 album track titled “Another Life – 2026,” which is a preview from his upcoming album, What a Time. The album, set to be released on June 5, features mostly original material, marking a significant return for Manilow after almost 15 years. Co-written by Andrew Hill and Preston Sturges, “Another Life – 2026” delves into the emotions of former lovers dealing with the aftermath of their relationship. The new recording, arranged by Manilow and Michael Lloyd, maintains the song’s nostalgic essence while adding depth to its sentiment. Originally recorded for his 1992 box set, the song reached No. 33 on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart as an album track.
This latest single release comes after Manilow’s recent public appearance following his surgery for lung cancer. At the American Advertising Federation’s Hall of Fame gala in New York City on April 23, Manilow received the President’s Award for his iconic contributions to advertising before his music career took off. What a Time will be Manilow’s 33rd studio album and his first predominantly original LP since 2011’s 15 Minutes, which peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 chart. The lead single from the album, “Once Before I Go,” reached No. 25 on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart in February, continuing Manilow’s streak of multiple top 30 hits on the chart spanning six decades.
Manilow’s new album features collaborations with renowned artists such as Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds and Dave Cobb, along with his longtime co-writers Bruce Sussman and Adrienne Anderson. Following his recovery from health challenges, Manilow plans to embark on a tour in 2026. For updates on tour dates and more information, visit Manilow’s official website.
