Ariana Grande's Record Store Day Success: Reentering the Official Physical Singles Chart

Record Store Day is a biannual event where record labels and popular artists release new music or reissue classic albums on vinyl exclusively in record stores. The goal is to attract fans to physical stores, which have faced challenges due to digital platforms like iTunes and Spotify. Following the recent Record Store Day, many limited edition releases quickly sold out, creating opportunities for regular performers to return to the charts.

Ariana Grande benefits from the absence of Record Store Day titles in the U.K., with four of her tracks reentering the Official Physical Singles chart. Her songs "Positions," "The Girl In The Bubble," "34+35," and "Hampstead" make a comeback on the chart, with "Positions" leading the pack at No. 52. These tracks have previously achieved top 10 and top three positions on the chart, with "34+35" reaching the top spot earlier this year.

Among Grande's current hits on the Official Physical Singles chart, "The Girl In The Bubble" has spent the least amount of time on the chart, appearing for only six weeks. In contrast, "34+35," "Positions," and "Hampstead" have spent 13, 22, and 27 weeks on the chart, respectively. Another song from the Wicked: For Good soundtrack, "No Place Like Home" by Cynthia Erivo, reenters the chart at No. 86.

While Grande's solo albums are not currently charting in the U.K., the original Wicked soundtrack and Wicked: For Good soundtrack continue to perform well. The Wicked soundtrack climbs to No. 9 on the Official Soundtrack Albums chart and No. 22 on the Official Compilations chart, with both albums having spent 75 weeks on the charts.
