FAA Employee Charged with Threatening President Trump: Understanding the Legal Consequences

A Nashua-based Federal Aviation Administration employee has been charged with making threats against President Donald Trump. Dean DelleChiaie, 35, was arrested and faces a federal charge of interstate communication of a threat against the president. The U.S. Attorney's office in New Hampshire revealed that DelleChiaie used his personal email to send a threatening message to the White House. The email contained a threat to harm President Trump, citing actions against children as the reason for the threat.

Prior to sending the threatening email, DelleChiaie conducted internet searches on his work computer related to firearms. The U.S. Secret Service interviewed him about these searches in February, during which he admitted to owning three firearms, including one kept in a safe at his home. If found guilty, DelleChiaie could face a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a fine of $250,000.

In light of the serious nature of the charges against DelleChiaie, it is crucial to recognize the severity of making threats against any public figure, especially the President of the United States. Such actions have legal consequences and can result in significant penalties. It is important to respect the law and refrain from engaging in threatening behavior towards others, regardless of personal beliefs or grievances.
