McDonald's Phasing Out Self-Serve Beverage Stations: New Specialty Drinks Coming Soon

McDonald's is phasing out self-serve beverage stations in its dining rooms across the U.S. by 2032. This change aims to provide a consistent experience for customers and staff across all ordering points. Some customers expressed disappointment at the loss of the opportunity to mix their own sodas at McDonald's. The fast-food chain has been making various changes to its restaurants, including revamping indoor playgrounds and introducing new menu items like specialty drinks. Customers will soon have access to six new specialty drinks, including Refreshers and crafted sodas, starting on May 6. However, the ability to create custom soda mixes may no longer be an option at McDonald's locations that have removed their drink stations.
