Dua Lipa Declines Offer to Perform at Joshua vs. Fury Boxing Match: What to Expect
Pop sensation Dua Lipa is not anticipated to perform at the highly anticipated boxing match between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury later this year. The British boxers have agreed to a long-awaited all-British showdown targeted for the end of 2026. Despite suggestions from Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority chairman Turki Al-Sheikh that Dua Lipa's participation could be crucial for the event's promotion, the singer declined the offer and is unlikely to be part of the event. Dua Lipa, known for hits like "New Rules" and "Don't Start Now," is a globally successful artist. The venue for the Fury vs. Joshua fight is yet to be confirmed, with Wembley Stadium in October being considered as the preferred option for organizers.
In recent years, musical performances have become a popular feature at high-profile boxing events. Rapper Eminem accompanied Terence Crawford to the ring for a championship fight, while Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher performed before a fight at Wembley in 2024. Last year, 50 Cent performed during a ringwalk for a rematch. Before Fury can face Joshua, the former unified champion must first come through his scheduled fight against Kristian Prenga in July in Saudi Arabia. Fury, who recently made a comeback with a win, is exploring another bout while waiting for Joshua. Promoter Frank Warren mentioned that a loss for Joshua in July could jeopardize a fight with Fury. Despite failed attempts in the past, Joshua and Fury are finally set to face each other, with both fighters expected to earn a career-high payday if the fight proceeds as planned.
