Arrest Made in Connection with Fatal Shooting at LDS Church Meetinghouse in Rose Park: John Vea Usaike Jr. in Custody
Salt Lake City Police Department has announced another arrest in connection with the fatal shooting at an LDS Church meetinghouse in Rose Park in January. John Vea Usaike Jr., 32, has been arrested in California and is awaiting extradition to Salt Lake City. He faces charges including homicide, felony discharge of a firearm resulting in serious bodily injury, and possession of a firearm by a restricted person. The shooting outside the church injured eight people, with two fatalities. Usaike was identified as a suspect through anonymous tips, physical evidence, and witness statements, leading to his arrest in California.
