USF Student's Roommate Arrested After Remains Found on Howard Frankland Bridge: The Search for Justice Continues

A University of South Florida student's roommate was arrested after the student's remains were discovered on the Howard Frankland Bridge in Tampa. The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office apprehended Hisham Saleh Abugharbieh, 26, following a domestic violence incident in the Lake Forest Community near the USF campus. Abugharbieh, a U.S. citizen, was considered a person of interest in the disappearance of USF doctoral students Zamil Limon, 27, and Nahida Bristy, 27, who were Bangladeshi nationals studying in the U.S. on visas.
Deputies successfully evacuated the family from the residence where Abugharbieh was located, and after a standoff, he surrendered to SWAT officers. Human remains were found on the Howard Frankland Bridge, later identified as Limon's, linking Abugharbieh to the case. Abugharbieh faces multiple charges, including tampering with evidence and unlawfully handling a dead body. The investigation is ongoing, and the search for Bristy continues.
Sheriff Chad Chronister expressed the community's shock and emphasized the detectives' dedication to uncovering the truth. The public is urged to provide any information regarding Bristy's whereabouts to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. The case remains a top priority for law enforcement as they seek justice for the victims and their families.
