Tragic Discovery: Bangladeshi Doctoral Student Found Dead on Tampa Bay Bridge, Girlfriend Still Missing

The body of a Bangladeshi doctoral student who went missing with his girlfriend from the University of South Florida was discovered on a bridge over Tampa Bay. The student, Zamil Limon, was found on the Howard Frankland bridge, but his girlfriend, Nahida Bristy, is still missing. Limon's roommate, Hisham Saleh Abugharbeih, has been taken into custody on various charges related to the case. Abugharbeih was apprehended at his family's home and is expected to appear in court soon.
Law enforcement authorities are actively searching for Nahida Bristy and are urging the public to provide any relevant information. Dive teams are scouring the bay near the bridge as part of the search efforts. Abugharbeih was involved in a domestic violence incident at his family's home, leading to his arrest. Despite barricading himself initially, he eventually surrendered to authorities.
Sheriff Chad Chronister expressed the community's shock and emphasized the ongoing efforts to uncover the truth in this distressing case. Limon and Bristy, both 27, were planning to get married before their disappearance on April 16. Limon was last seen at his off-campus apartment, where he lived with Abugharbeih, while Bristy was last seen at a campus science building.
Abugharbeih, a U.S. citizen, is cooperating with detectives following his arrest. The investigation currently has no other suspects. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of Limon's death. Abugharbeih, a former USF student, had previous legal issues but had completed a diversion program for misdemeanor charges.
Limon was studying geography, environmental science, and policy, while Bristy was pursuing chemical engineering. The case has deeply affected the community, and authorities are working diligently to provide answers. The investigation is ongoing, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
