Blue Blocks Montessori School and Blue Blocks Micro Research Institute are set to participate in the 30th International AMI Montessori Congress 2026 in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico from May 1-4, 2026. The congress is a significant event organized by the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI), founded by Dr. Maria Montessori in 1929. Co-founders Pavan Goyal and Munira Hussain will lead a breakout session on May 3rd, coinciding with keynote addresses by renowned speakers like Dr. Adele Diamond, Dr. Gabor Maté, Dr. Angeline Stoll Lillard, and AMI President Professor Alain Tschudin. Blue Blocks Montessori School is the sole representative from India at this global gathering of speakers from over 15 countries.
The official breakout session titled 'Montessori and Innovation: A Design Thinking Workshop for a Changing World' will be conducted by Pavan Goyal and Munira Hussain on May 3rd, 2026. The session will focus on how Montessori pedagogy fosters innovative thinking across different age groups and will include a hands-on Design Thinking workshop for educators and students to collaborate actively. The session draws on the extensive longitudinal data panel of 1,047 Indian children across the AMI Montessori continuum maintained by Blue Blocks Micro Research Institute.
Blue Blocks adolescents will also be present at the congress to share the story of SBB-1, a CubeSat satellite payload developed by school-age students at Blue Blocks. Despite experiencing an anomaly during the launch, the project was viewed as a valuable learning experience rather than a failure. The students will introduce SBB-2, the next-generation satellite payload, at the congress, showcasing their innovative capabilities in various fields such as drone design, biomimicry, space education, and autonomous vehicle systems.
