Man Sentenced to Prison for Stealing Homeland Security Secretary's Purse

A man who stole a purse from the then-Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem while she was dining at a restaurant under Secret Service protection has been sentenced to three years in prison for a series of thefts in Washington, D.C. Mario Bustamante Leiva, the thief, took Noem's Gucci handbag, unaware of her identity, containing credit cards and $3,000 in cash. The purse was later found in Leiva's motel room.
