Walmart Unveils Ambitious Store Remodeling and Expansion Plans for 2026

Walmart has revealed plans to remodel over 650 of its stores, including Supercenters and Neighborhood Markets, across the country this year. The retail giant based in Bentonville, Arkansas, aims to make a significant investment in its stores in 2026. While a full list of locations slated for remodeling has not been disclosed, Walmart has shared a list of stores in Arkansas and several other states that are up for renovations.

In the remodeled stores, customers can expect to see various enhancements, such as expanded deli and hot bar selections, improved lighting and fixtures, pharmacy delivery options, and upgraded areas for fulfilling online grocery orders. Walmart is also focusing on rapid remodels for select Neighborhood Markets, with renovations expected to be completed in just up to four weeks, rather than a few months.

Additionally, Walmart is set to open 20 new stores in 2026 and early 2027, with recent openings in Eastvale, California, and Apollo Beach, Ocala, Jacksonville, and The Villages, Florida. The retail chain will also debut a new Supercenter in Celina, Texas, and another in Tucson, Arizona. Further details about the new store openings have not been disclosed.

As Walmart continues its commitment to enhancing the shopping experience for customers, the company's ongoing store remodeling and expansion efforts aim to provide a more modern and convenient environment for shoppers nationwide.
