Diane Warren's Reggae Revolution: 'Songs in the Key of Diane' Album Set to Release on July 31

Diane Warren, a renowned songwriter, is set to release her debut reggae album titled "Songs in the Key of Diane: A Reggae Compilation of Diane Warren Songs" on July 31. The album features a mix of classic, deep-cut, and unreleased songs penned by Warren, including a revamped version of DeBarge's "Rhythm of the Night" by American reggae band Common Kings. Warren expressed her love for reggae music and the joy of hearing fresh covers of her old hits alongside new, unheard songs on the album.
The project was curated by Regime Music Group president Steven Rosen, who collaborated with Warren and Regime/Island Empire co-founders Ivory Daniel and Kevin Zinger to produce the album. Warren highlighted the versatility of her songs, stating that a great song can transcend genres and work well in different styles of music. The album features a diverse lineup of artists, including Polynesian/Samoan reggae singer Sammy Johnson and the late Pacific reggae superstar Fiji, who recorded his final track for Warren before his passing.
The album also includes covers by various Regime/Island Empire acts, such as Filipino American singer Eli Mac, Tongan singer Analea Brown, and Hawaiian-born singer MAKUA. Additionally, tracks like "Blame It On the Rain" by Fiji protégé Nomad and "Can't Fight the Moonlight" by Anuhea are featured on the album. Warren expressed her excitement about reimagining and releasing songs that were previously unheard, showcasing the talent of reggae and Pacific Island artists who brought her compositions to life.
The tracklist for "Songs in the Key of Diane" includes a mix of covers and unreleased songs, each interpreted in a reggae style by the featured artists. The album promises a unique blend of Warren's songwriting prowess and the vibrant sounds of reggae music, offering listeners a fresh perspective on her timeless compositions.
