South Korea saw a remarkable increase in foreign tourism in March, with a record 2.06 million international visitors. This surge was driven by Chinese tourists and the highly anticipated return of K-pop group BTS, signaling a strong recovery for the country's travel industry. Data from the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism showed a 23% year-on-year increase in arrivals for the first quarter, reaching 4.76 million visitors. Hana Card, a South Korean credit card company, estimated that foreign attendees of BTS concerts spent approximately 55.5 billion won in the country between January and April. The average spending per visitor was around 1.85 million won. BTS, known for their global impact on K-pop music, released a new album in March and held a comeback concert in Seoul before embarking on a world tour. Analysts predict that ticket sales for their tour could reach as high as 2.7 trillion won.
