Tragic Fentanyl Overdose: Parents Arrested for Murder of Two-Year-Old Daughter

A tragic incident in San Francisco has led to the arrest of a couple for the murder of their two-year-old daughter. Michelle Price and Steve Ramirez are facing charges of murder and felony child endangerment after their daughter died from a fentanyl overdose. The parents allegedly knew about the dangers of fentanyl but still left it accessible to their child. The little girl, who had fentanyl in her system since birth, was found dead in their apartment in February.
District Attorney Brooke Jenkins emphasized that the parents were fully aware of the lethal effects of fentanyl but continued to expose their child to it. The child had a history of hospitalization and her parents kept Narcan in their home in case of an overdose. The police discovered the child deceased after a 911 call reporting a child not breathing. The parents were found to have high levels of fentanyl and meth in their systems at the time of the incident.
The investigation revealed drug paraphernalia, fentanyl, spoiled milk bottles, and a used Narcan container in the apartment. The child's cause of death was determined to be acute fentanyl toxicity. Ramirez attempted to flee the scene and resisted arrest, leading to additional charges against him. The Assistant District Attorney highlighted that Child Protective Services had prior knowledge of neglect involving the child but failed to prevent further neglect.
The case is ongoing, and the parents are scheduled for their next hearing. The tragic death of the two-year-old girl has sparked outrage and calls for justice in the community. The authorities are committed to holding the parents accountable for their actions and ensuring that justice is served for the innocent child who lost her life due to a preventable tragedy.
