Claim Your Share: Dollar General Settlement Deadline Approaching

The deadline to claim a portion of a settlement involving Dollar General is approaching. Dollar General faced a class action lawsuit in New Jersey for allegedly charging customers prices different from those advertised in stores. Customers who paid more or less than the labeled price from October 10, 2016, to November 19, 2025, may be eligible for a claim. The settlement may allocate $8.5 million for approved claims. Eligible customers can choose between a cash payment or an in-store benefit. Those who filed complaints with a government agency or Dollar General for price overcharges can receive up to $10 per complaint, with a maximum of $20 per household. Customers with evidence of overcharges can also qualify for the payout. Additionally, eligible shoppers can receive a $3 discount on a $10 purchase during a specified two-day period at any Dollar General store in the U.S. Proof is not required for this in-store credit. If you did not receive a notice but have evidence of an incorrect charge, you can fill out a form with details of the overcharge. The deadline to file a claim is April 13, and you will need the notice ID and confirmation code if you received a notice about the settlement. More information about the settlement can be found on the settlement website. While the settlement has received final approval from the court, the timeline for cash payments or credits is uncertain.
