Commercial flights are currently available through Middle East Airlines at Beirut Rafic Hariri airport, and Americans are encouraged to consider departing on these flights if they feel it is safe to do so. The U.S. Embassy in Beirut is offering limited passport services on an emergency basis to U.S. citizens, while routine consular services, including visa operations, are suspended until further notice. Travel plans to Lebanon should be canceled, according to officials.
