Seattle Homicide Suspect Isaiah Andrews Apprehended in St. Louis After Mistaken Release

A Seattle homicide suspect, Isaiah Andrews, who was mistakenly released from a California jail last fall, has been apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Service in St. Louis, Missouri, on April 1, 2026. Andrews, 20, was initially arrested in Antioch, California, in connection with the murder of Theodore Wheeler in North Seattle. Wheeler was fatally shot in a hotel parking lot on October 15, 2025, prompting a search for Andrews as the suspect. Following his arrest in California, Andrews was mistakenly released from the Contra Costa County Jail, leading to a continued pursuit by authorities. Andrews will now be extradited back to Seattle to face a first-degree murder charge.
