Mark Sanford Announces Bid for South Carolina's First Congressional District Seat

Former South Carolina Governor and U.S. Congressman Mark Sanford has filed to run in the Republican primary for South Carolina's First Congressional District as the filing period nears its end. Sanford previously held the seat from 1995 to 2001 and later served as Governor from 2003 to 2011. He reclaimed the First Congressional District in 2013 and served until 2019. The current seat holder, Congresswoman Nancy Mace, is running for Governor.
