Uchral Nyam-Osor Nominated as Mongolia's New Prime Minister by Ruling Party

Mongolia's ruling party has chosen a new candidate for the position of prime minister following the resignation of Zandanshatar Gombojav after a short tenure. Uchral Nyam-Osor, the current party chairman and speaker of the Parliament, was nominated for the role at a meeting of the Mongolian People's Party. Uchral, a member of the MPP since 2009, is viewed as a consensus choice to lead the government amid internal party divisions. The selection of Uchral Nyam-Osor comes after Zandanshatar Gombojav stepped down from the position after just nine months in office.
