Love at Buc-ee's: Bob and Melanie's Unconventional Wedding Adventure

Bob Hespen and Melanie Curtis decided to tie the knot at Buc-ee’s in Sevierville, Tennessee, after Bob jokingly suggested it. The couple, who are big fans of the Smoky Mountains and Buc-ee’s, found the idea fitting for their wedding venue. They received numerous responses from potential officiants, including a ventriloquist who offered to perform the ceremony with a puppet. Ultimately, they chose Sammy Solomon from the New Market Fire Department to officiate their wedding.
On the day of the wedding, Bob and Melanie, dressed in their wedding attire, met Sammy and their photographer at the Bucky the Beaver statue in the gas station’s parking lot. Despite initial nerves, Melanie couldn’t help but smile and giggle throughout the ceremony as Sammy delivered heartfelt words about marriage being a lifelong adventure akin to a road trip. The short ceremony included exchanging rings, saying “I do,” and sealing the deal with a kiss, all while customers passing by offered their congratulations and took pictures.
Bob and Melanie are now happily married and excited about the journey ahead as they continue to choose each other mile after mile. The unique and memorable wedding at Buc-ee’s will surely be a cherished moment in their love story.
