Long-Awaited Federal Medical Center for Native American Patients to be Built Near Albuquerque

A federal medical center long-awaited by Native American patients will soon be built on an empty lot near Albuquerque. The facility, promised over 30 years ago, will offer a range of medical services, including dialysis, diabetes care, and optometry. Santa Ana Pueblo Gov. Myron Armijo recently led officials from the U.S. Indian Health Service and the Department of Health and Human Services on a tour of the site where the center will be located. This development marks a significant step forward in addressing the healthcare needs of Native American communities in the region.
