Ortiz, who was found with a rifle, ammunition, and a wig, faces charges of attempted murder, assault with a firearm, and shooting at inhabited dwellings and vehicles. She is held in pre-trial detention after failing to pay bail. The court ordered her not to practice as a speech-language pathologist in California. If convicted, Ortiz could face life imprisonment without parole. TMZ reported her history of involuntary commitment and her social media posts referencing celebrities, including Rihanna.
Ortiz's Facebook page contains videos and posts mentioning Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, and Cardi B. In one post, she challenges Rihanna to confront her directly instead of indirectly. Another video suggests that Ortiz believes Rihanna wants to harm her. Ortiz is scheduled to appear in court again on April 8 for further proceedings.
