California Man Arrested for Arriving at Courthouse in Stolen Vehicle

A man from California was taken into custody by the Monterey County Sheriff's office after he arrived at the Salinas courthouse in a stolen vehicle. Ricardo Otero, 41, was set to attend a court hearing for an auto theft case when deputies discovered that the car he was driving had been reported stolen from San Jose. Otero was apprehended outside the courtroom and faced additional charges of unlawful driving or taking of a vehicle, committing a felony while out on bail, and driving with a suspended license. It remains unclear whether Otero has legal representation to provide a statement on his behalf.
