Future Islands Celebrates 20 Years with 'From a Hole in the Floor to a Fountain of Youth' Compilation Album
Future Islands is set to mark their 20th anniversary with a new compilation album titled "From a Hole in the Floor to a Fountain of Youth," scheduled for release on May 22nd via 4AD. The album will feature a mix of familiar tracks and rare gems, including two new songs, "Sail" and "Find Love."
The compilation album traces the band's two-decade journey through their discography, offering a collection of alternate hits, rarities, and fan favorites that have not been widely available on streaming platforms before. Bassist William Cashion, who curated the selection, explained that the album's title symbolizes the transition from everyday life to the realization of one's dreams.
"From a Hole in the Floor to a Fountain of Youth" will be released digitally, on CD, and as a Blue + Apricot 2xLP vinyl package. The new tracks, "Sail" and "Find Love," are already available for streaming.
While Future Islands has not announced any tour dates for 2026 yet, they have hinted at a special series of shows in North Carolina and Baltimore in support of the upcoming album. Their latest album, "People Who Aren't There Anymore," was released in 2024.
