Kevin Spacey Civil Suit Resolved Out of Court: Details of Settlement and Background

A civil suit against actor Kevin Spacey has been resolved out of court. The lawsuit was filed by actor Ruari Cannon and two other individuals who accused Mr. Spacey of abusing them between 2000 and 2015. The settlement terms were agreed upon by all parties involved, as stated in a confidential schedule. Kevin Spacey, known for his roles in "American Beauty" and "House of Cards," has consistently denied any wrongdoing. The cases were initially set to be heard in court in October, but the proceedings were frozen following the settlement agreement. The judge did not make any ruling on costs. Kevin Spacey was previously acquitted of criminal sexual charges in 2023. Ruari Cannon also sued the Old Vic theatre but settled that case out of court recently. Images of Mr. Spacey were included in files related to Jeffrey Epstein released by the Department of Justice. Kevin Spacey has called for the release of all Epstein files, stating that the truth should come out for those with nothing to fear. Despite winning Oscars for his performances, Kevin Spacey's career has been tarnished by allegations of sexual offenses that emerged in 2017 during the #MeToo movement. In 2022, a $40 million civil sexual misconduct lawsuit against him was dismissed by a New York court.
