Victory for Dylan Lopez Contreras: Reunited with Family in NYC After ICE Release

Dylan Lopez Contreras, a New York City public school student, has been released by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and is on his way to reunite with his family in New York City. Senate Democratic Minority Leader Chuck Schumer stated that Dylan entered the U.S. legally, had Special Immigrant Juvenile Status, and was enrolled in high school at Ellis Preparatory Academy in the Bronx. Despite his legal status, he was detained by ICE after a court hearing. Schumer worked with advocates to bring attention to Dylan's case and now he is returning home to his family and community.
