Mexican authorities have apprehended a suspected drug trafficker linked to the raid that resulted in the death of Mexican drug lord Nemesio Oseguera, also known as "El Mencho." Oseguera, the leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), was fatally injured during a military operation on February 22 in Jalisco. The arrested individual, identified as Jose N, nicknamed "El Pepe," was involved in transporting Oseguera's partner to a luxurious cabin in Tapalpa.

The defense ministry revealed that military intelligence services were able to locate Oseguera following information about his meeting with a woman at a country club. "El Pepe" was a key logistics operator for CJNG and was captured in Tlajomulco, Jalisco. Upon his arrest, authorities seized drugs, weapons, and a vehicle from him.

Oseguera, who was Mexico's most wanted man with a $15 million bounty on his head from the United States, was a top priority for law enforcement agencies. Following his death, CJNG members staged protests in various states, leading to violent incidents and casualties. The operation to capture Oseguera resulted in the deaths of over 70 individuals, including Mexican National Guard troops.

The funeral of Oseguera was a grand affair, with a golden casket, elaborate flower arrangements, and a significant military presence. The aftermath of his death sparked unrest and violence in different parts of Mexico, highlighting the impact of his criminal activities.
