Bank of America Settles Lawsuit Over Jeffrey Epstein's Sexual Abuse Allegations

Bank of America has reached a settlement in a civil lawsuit filed by women who accused the bank of enabling their sexual abuse by Jeffrey Epstein. The lawsuit, filed by a woman using the pseudonym Jane Doe, alleged that the bank ignored suspicious financial transactions related to Epstein despite having information about his crimes. U.S. District Judge Jed Rakoff ruled that Bank of America must face claims that it knowingly benefited from Epstein's sex trafficking. The settlement still needs approval from Rakoff, and if approved, it will avoid a scheduled trial in May. Other financial institutions, including JPMorgan Chase and Deutsche Bank, have also settled similar lawsuits related to Epstein's sex trafficking activities. Epstein died in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
