Fort Stewart Soldier Changes Plea to Guilty in Shooting Incident Case

A soldier who was accused of shooting and injuring fellow soldiers in August has decided to change his plea. Sgt. Quornelius Radford faced charges of attempted premeditated murder and other offenses related to a shooting incident at Fort Stewart. He altered his plea from not guilty to guilty on several specifications, including attempted premeditated murder, domestic violence, aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon, and aggravated assault by inflicting grievous bodily harm. A hearing is scheduled for March 31 and April 1 for the judge to consider accepting Radford's guilty plea.

Sgt. Radford's decision to plead guilty was made without any negotiated agreement to reduce his potential sentence from the government. He could potentially face a life sentence if convicted. If the judge approves the guilty plea, Radford will be sentenced on April 20-22.
