Rihanna's Home Targeted in Shooting Incident: Suspect Charged with Attempted Murder

Rihanna, along with her partner A$AP Rocky, their three children, and her mother, were present at their home when a woman from Florida, Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, allegedly fired shots at the property. Ortiz has been charged with attempted murder, assault with a firearm, and shooting at an inhabited vehicle or dwelling. Fortunately, no one was harmed during the incident. The couple was in a trailer on the property at the time of the shooting, while other family members and staff were inside the Beverly Hills-area home.

Ortiz, represented by Deputy Public Defender Jamarcus Bradford, initially pleaded not guilty but later postponed her arraignment to March 25. She is being held on $1.8 million bail. The charges against her include 10 counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and three counts of shooting at a dwelling, including Rihanna's house, her trailer, and a neighbor's house. If convicted on all charges, Ortiz could face life in prison.

Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman commended the police for swiftly apprehending Ortiz after the shooting, which took place in Sherman Oaks. A protective order has been issued for Ortiz to stay away from Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, and their residence. She is also prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition. The motive behind the shooting and Ortiz's connection to Rihanna are currently under investigation.

The lead prosecutor in the case is Alexander Bott, who previously prosecuted rapper Tory Lanez in a trial involving the shooting of Megan Thee Stallion. Details about where the bullets landed, Ortiz's background, and her relationship to the victims have not been disclosed. Public records indicate that Ortiz was a licensed speech pathologist based in Orlando.

In a separate incident in 2018, a man broke into another home owned by Rihanna in the Hollywood Hills. He pleaded no contest to charges of stalking, vandalism, and resisting arrest. Rihanna, a nine-time Grammy Award winner, has numerous chart-topping hits and is the founder of Fenty Beauty. She and A$AP Rocky welcomed their third child, Rocki Irish Mayers, in September.
