Rihanna and A$AP Rocky's Home Targeted in Shooting Incident: Ivanna Lisette Ortiz Faces Attempted Murder Charges

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky were at their Beverly Hills-area home with their children and Rihanna's mother when Ivanna Lisette Ortiz allegedly fired shots at the property. Ortiz, charged with attempted murder and multiple felony counts, appeared in court wearing blue jail clothes and braided blond hair. The charges include 10 counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and three counts of shooting at an inhabited vehicle or dwelling. No injuries were reported.
Ortiz's attorney initially entered a plea of not guilty but later postponed the arraignment to March 25. The LA County Public Defender's Office stated they would ensure Ortiz receives constitutional protections. If convicted on all charges, Ortiz could face life in prison. The protective order issued by Judge Theresa McGonigle prohibits Ortiz from contacting Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, or possessing firearms.
Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman commended the police response for swiftly apprehending Ortiz after the shooting. The prosecutor in the case, Alexander Bott, successfully prosecuted rapper Tory Lanez in a similar trial. Details about where the bullets landed, Ortiz's motives, and her connection to Rihanna are under investigation. Public records show Ortiz was a licensed speech pathologist from Orlando.
In a separate incident in 2018, a man broke into another home owned by Rihanna in the Hollywood Hills. He pleaded no contest to stalking and vandalism charges. Rihanna, a nine-time Grammy Award winner, has numerous chart-topping hits and founded Fenty Beauty in 2017. She and A$AP Rocky welcomed their third child, Rocki Irish Mayers, in September.
