Florida Woman Charged with Attempted Murder for Shooting at Rihanna's Home

A woman from Florida, Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, has been charged with attempted murder, assault, and shooting at an inhabited vehicle or dwelling after allegedly firing gunshots at singer Rihanna's Los Angeles home. The incident occurred on a Sunday afternoon when Ms. Ortiz reportedly shot a semiautomatic weapon multiple times at the residence where Rihanna, her partner A$AP Rocky, their children, and other family members were present. Fortunately, no one was injured during the shooting. The authorities emphasized the seriousness of such reckless violence and stated that the perpetrator will face prosecution.

During the court proceedings, Ortiz's attorney initially entered a plea of not guilty on her behalf but later postponed the arraignment until March 25. She is currently held on a $1.8 million bail. The LA County Public Defender's Office refrained from commenting on the case, ensuring that Ortiz receives constitutional protections. If convicted on all charges, Ortiz could face life imprisonment. The judge issued a protection order for Ortiz to stay away from Rihanna, her partner, and their home, prohibiting her from possessing firearms or ammunition.

Rihanna, a nine-time Grammy Award winner known for her music and Fenty Beauty makeup brand, has been a prominent figure in the entertainment industry. She and A$AP Rocky welcomed their third child, Rocki Irish Mayers, in September. The incident at her home has raised concerns about safety and the consequences of such violent actions.
