The music market in Spain experienced significant growth in 2025, with a 13.7% increase in industry value, reaching 409.5 million euros. Music sales, including digital and physical formats, accounted for 84% of total revenue, similar to levels seen in 2003 but still below the peak in 2001. Popular albums in Spain included works by Bad Bunny, Rosalía, Aitana, Quevedo, Beéle, Taylor Swift, JC Reyes, Karol G, Mora, and Omar Courtz.
Streaming continued to drive the music industry, generating 299.8 million euros in 2025, with premium subscriptions contributing significantly to total streaming revenue. Over 21 million Spaniards used audio streaming services, with more than 8 million having premium subscriptions. The top songs of the year included tracks by W Sound, Beéle, Ovy On The Drums, Yorghaki, Alleh, Bad Bunny, Karol G, and various collaborations.
The digital market accounted for 87.9% of all recorded music sales in Spain, with streaming dominating the landscape. Vinyl sales continued to lead the physical market, with a significant increase in revenues in 2025. CD sales also saw growth, albeit more modestly. Antonio Guisasola, president of PROMUSICAE, highlighted the positive growth in the recording market but emphasized the need to address challenges such as low subscription penetration and piracy.
In conclusion, the music market in Spain saw substantial growth in 2025, driven by streaming and physical sales. While the industry is moving closer to figures from 2003, challenges such as low subscription rates and piracy still need to be addressed to ensure fair compensation for artists and sustainable growth in the sector.
