High-Speed Chase and Shooting Incident Involving Multiple Law Enforcement Agencies in Kent, Texas

The incident began when a man started shooting at law enforcement officers conducting vehicle checks at the Sierra Blanca checkpoint along I-10. The chase came to an end near Kent, approximately 70 miles away, after law enforcement officials executed a PIT Maneuver. The driver, identified as 33-year-old James Douglas McMillan from Wisconsin, barricaded himself in the vehicle and allegedly pointed a weapon at officers, prompting them to return fire. McMillan was pronounced dead at the scene, and no civilians or law enforcement officers were injured during the incident.
