Charlie Puth Joins Moises as Chief Music Officer: Enhancing Music Creation with AI and Human Creativity

Moises, an AI-powered music platform, has appointed Charlie Puth as its chief music officer. In this role, Puth will offer insights and advice to Moises on product development and creative direction, leveraging his experience as a professional musician to enhance the offerings of the Salt Lake City-based music tech company. Puth praises Moises for its ability to streamline music production processes, making tasks like isolating vocals and experimenting with arrangements more accessible and efficient for artists. He emphasizes that AI should complement, not replace, musicians by facilitating learning, exploration, and idea realization.

Moises differentiates itself by training its AI models on licensed and ethically sourced songs, providing a range of tools for music creators such as stem separation, mastering, and chord identification. Rather than generating entire songs automatically, Moises allows users to upload their musical ideas and use its tools to generate additional instrument parts one stem at a time. With 45 proprietary AI models available, Moises empowers users to enhance their creative projects effectively and seamlessly.

To mark Puth's new role, he and Moises have launched a global remix competition called Moises Jam Session. Participants can access Puth's original stems and create their remix or cover of his new single "Beat Yourself Up," the lead track from his upcoming album Whatever's Clever. The competition offers cash prizes, signed merchandise, and a backstage meet-and-greet at Puth's May 29 Madison Square Garden show for the winner and finalists. Moises reports a user base of 70 million across 190 countries, with 15 million new users joining this year. The platform processes 2.5 million minutes of audio daily, with top markets including the U.S., Brazil, Mexico, India, Indonesia, Japan, Turkey, and France.

Geraldo Ramos, CEO of Moises, highlights the company's belief in AI as a tool to enhance human creativity rather than replace it entirely. He envisions AI as a means to amplify the unique qualities of human creativity, such as intuition, emotion, and artistic vision. By championing the human element in music creation, Moises aims to empower artists with AI tools that complement and elevate their creative processes, fostering a harmonious blend of technology and artistry.
