Beef Price-Fixing Lawsuit Settlement: How to Claim Your Compensation

If you have purchased beef from a supermarket, you may be entitled to compensation. A class action lawsuit has been filed against several beef processors, alleging that they engaged in anti-competitive practices to raise prices for consumers. The lawsuit targets companies such as JBS USA Food Company, Swift Beef Company, Cargill, National Beef Packing Company, and Tyson Foods.

Cargill and Tyson have agreed to settle the claims by paying a total of $87.5 million. Consumers who bought various beef products for personal use between August 1, 2014, and December 31, 2019, in specific states may be eligible for a refund. These states include Arizona, California, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, and others.

To qualify for a payment, individuals must submit their claims by June 30. The amount of compensation will be based on the quantity of beef purchased during the specified period. A hearing is scheduled for May 12 to determine the approval of the settlements.

If you believe you are eligible for a refund, make sure to file your claim before the deadline. This opportunity allows consumers to potentially receive compensation for overpriced beef products purchased during the specified timeframe.
