Update: U.S. F-15E Strike Eagles Mistakenly Shot Down by Kuwait During Operation Epic Fire
The U.S. military has confirmed that three American F-15E Strike Eagles were mistakenly shot down by Kuwait during active combat in support of Operation Epic Fire as Iran attacked the country. CENTCOM described the incident as an apparent friendly fire incident. The U.S. Air Force fighter jets were shot down by Kuwaiti air defenses during attacks from Iranian aircraft, ballistic missiles, and drones. All six aircrew were able to eject safely and were recovered in stable condition. The cause of the incident is currently under investigation.
