St. Pat's in Five Points: Columbia's Annual Celebration of St. Patrick's Day

The annual ceremonial dyeing of the Five Points Fountain in Columbia marked the official start of St. Pat's season in the city. The event, presented by the Fountain Division of W.P. Law, Inc., kicked off with the fountain turning green, signaling the upcoming festivities. Families enjoyed a range of activities, including traditional Irish music, dance performances, face painting, balloon artistry, games, and crafts for children. DJ Kenya Spinz provided music, and peanuts were available from Go-N-Nutz.

The main event, St. Pat's in Five Points, will take place on March 14, offering South Carolina's largest one-day festival. Five Points Association Executive Director Heather McDonald shared that preparations are underway, with tickets on sale and registration open for Get to the Green. This year, the event will start and finish at Maxcy Gregg Park, with the introduction of the Lucky Fork food hall along Devine Street. Festival-goers can enjoy seating, acoustic live music sets, and a variety of food options while taking a break from the festivities.
