Man Charged with Federal Hate Crime for Deliberate Car Crash into Brooklyn Synagogue

A man from New Jersey who deliberately crashed his car into a well-known Brooklyn synagogue is now facing federal charges. Dan Sohail, 36, had already been charged with a hate crime at the Chabad-Lubavitch Hasidic movement's temple in Crown Heights. He was arrested by federal authorities for intentionally damaging religious property, which could result in a three-year prison sentence. The Assistant Attorney General emphasized the importance of protecting places of worship and vowed to prosecute those responsible for such attacks.
