RM x SFMOMA: Bridging Perspectives in Modern and Contemporary Art

This autumn, RM, the leader of BTS, will embark on a new artistic venture with the launch of RM x SFMOMA at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. The exhibition, scheduled to open on October 3 and run until February 2027, will showcase RM's personal collection of modern and contemporary art. RM collaborated with SFMOMA curators América Castillo and Hyoeun Kim to co-curate the exhibition, actively participating in the layout and presentation to create an engaging experience for art enthusiasts and those interested in culture, creativity, and history.

RM's vision for the exhibition is to serve as a bridge between different perspectives, including East and West, Korea and America, and the modern and contemporary art worlds. He aims to welcome all viewpoints and interpretations, encouraging curiosity and personal engagement with the artworks on display. RM expressed his desire for the exhibition to be a meaningful connection for visitors, offering a diverse selection of paintings and sculptures from his collection alongside works from SFMOMA's own holdings.

The RM x SFMOMA exhibition is made possible through the support of Mary Jane Elmore, the Korea Foundation, Alka and Ravin Agrawal, and Jonathan Gans and Abigail Turin. RM's curated collection will be presented in a way that invites exploration and reflection, fostering connections between different artistic traditions and inviting visitors to engage with the artworks in their own unique way. The exhibition promises to be a dynamic and thought-provoking experience for all who attend, offering a glimpse into RM's artistic vision and creative influences.
