Diverse 2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Nominees: Oasis, Phil Collins, Shakira, and More

The 2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominees have been announced, featuring a diverse range of artists from various genres. Among the nominees are Oasis, Phil Collins, and Shakira, showcasing the wide spectrum of music represented in this year's selection. The list includes performers from rap, metal, R&B, hip-hop, Britpop, blues rock, and pop, such as Mariah Carey, Lauryn Hill, INXS, Iron Maiden, Luther Vandross, Melissa Etheridge, Jeff Buckley, Pink, New Edition, Sade, and the Wu-Tang Clan.

Billy Idol and Joy Division/New Order are making a return to the nominations after missing out on induction last year. Notably, the nominations also include two sets of musical brothers, The Black Crowes and Oasis, who have had public feuds and recent reunions. Oasis, led by brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher, reunited in 2025 for a successful world tour, performing their biggest hits to the delight of fans worldwide.

Phil Collins, known for hits like "In the Air Tonight" and "One More Night," has won multiple Grammys, including Album of the Year in 1985 for No Jacket Required. Lauryn Hill made history with The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, becoming the first hip-hop album to win the Grammy for Album of the Year in 1999. Mariah Carey, with 19 No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, and Sade, known for soft rock classics like "Smooth Operator," are also among the nominees.

The Wu-Tang Clan, INXS, Melissa Etheridge, Iron Maiden, New Edition, Shakira, and Pink are all recognized for their contributions to music and their impact on the industry. Ten of the 17 nominees are first-time contenders, including Jeff Buckley, Luther Vandross, and the Wu-Tang Clan. The final inductees will be announced in April, along with recipients of special committee awards for musical influence, excellence, and the Ahmet Ertegun Non-Performer Award.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame celebrates the evolving faces and sounds of rock music and its enduring influence on youth culture. Nominees must have released their first commercial recording at least 25 years prior to be eligible for induction. The voting process involves over 1,200 artists, historians, and music industry professionals who will determine the next inductees. Last year's inductees included Cyndi Lauper, Outkast, Bad Company, and others, highlighting the diverse range of talent recognized by the prestigious institution.
