Remembering Katherine Short: A Tribute to a Life Lost Too Soon

Katherine Short, the daughter of actor Martin Short, tragically passed away from suicide at the age of 42. Law enforcement sources revealed that she died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at her Hollywood Hills residence. The LAPD responded to the incident on Monday evening.

Katherine, who was adopted by Martin Short and his late wife Nancy Dolman, worked as a social worker in Los Angeles. She obtained her bachelor's degree from New York University in 2006 and a master's in social work from the University of Southern California in 2010. Katherine interned at Public Counsel and trained at the West Los Angeles Veterans Affairs Medical Center before working at UCLA Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital and later at Camden Center.

Despite leading a private life, Katherine occasionally accompanied her father to public events, such as The Producers afterparty, Bette Midler's New York Restoration Project Hulaween event, and the Vanity Fair Oscar Party in 2011.
